![]() While October is recognized as “Fire Prevention Month”, it is a year-round task for the fire company. The fire company actively visits schools and religious organizations to teach about fire prevention. The most important part our job is teaching fire prevention and safety. Once members successfully complete their basic fire academy, they go on to complete more advance classes including vehicle rescue, rope rescue, apparatus driver/operator courses, and more. This course is over 200 hours of classroom and hands-on training, teaching new fire service members the basics of firefighting. ![]() Our members attend a Pennsylvania State Accredited Fire Academy to earn their “Firefighter 1” certification. Fire emergencies included building fires, vehicle fires, brush/field fires , and more. The fire company responds to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies. The North Penn Volunteer Fire Company is organized for the purpose of support and operation of fire apparatus and other equipment, for the control of fires in the Borough of North Wales, Upper Gwynedd and Lower Gwynedd Townships, the communities therein and territories adjacent thereto, in the County of Montgomery, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
